Handful of Islanders selected at MHL Draft

A number of Charlottetown Islanders players and prospects were selected at the 2014 MHL Draft in Summerside on Saturday.

Defenceman Duncan McKie was a territorial selection of the Valley Wildcats. McKie, 17, was a fourth-round pick by the Islanders in 2013.

Forward Keith Getson was a territorial selection of the Birdgewater Lumberjacks. Getson, 16, was recently drafted in the third round by the Islanders in the third round.

Andrew Dumaresque (Islanders 12, 205) was selected 10th overall by the Amherst Ramblers.

David Comeau (Islanders 11, 187) was selected in the second round, 18th overall by the Woodstock Slammers.

Brady Griffin-Hefford (Islanders 13, 223) was selected in the fifth round, 49th overall by the St. Stephen County Aces.

Defenceman Luc Deschenes was selected in the fifth round, 57th overall by the Woodstock Slammers.

Curtis Scales was selected in the sixth round, 71st overall by the Miramichi Timberwolves.
