Troy Vance reassigned to ECHL's Elmira Jackals

Charlottetown Islanders defenceman Troy Vance has been reassigned by the Dallas Stars to the Elmira Jackals of the East Coast Hockey League.

The 20-year-old finished up his final year of major junior eligibility this season with the Islanders. In 59 games this season, the six-foot-five, 220-pound defenceman scored eight goals and 29 points. Vance scored a power play goal during his last QMJHL shift against the Halifax Mooseheads on March 27 in an 11-3 Game 4 loss.

Vance was originally acquired by the P.E.I. Rocket during the 2012-2013 via trade with Victoriaville. He scored a goal and helped on seven others in 28 games when joining the Rocket. Vance spent two and a half season with Victoriaville before joining Charlottetown.

The Goshen, N.Y. native was drafted in the fifth round, 135th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
