OFFICIAL: Islanders acquire Dexter Weber from Drummondville

The Charlottetown Islanders have traded defenceman Kevin Laliberte to the Drummondville Voltigeurs in exchange for fellow defenceman Dexter Weber.

Weber, who turns 19 in December, was an invite of the Voltigeurs in 2012. In two seasons with the Voltigeurs, the Kitchener, Ont. native has scored four goals and 30 points in 116 games with a plus-six rating. Weber stands six feet and 185 pounds.

Laliberte, who turns 18 in June, was a second round pick of the Islanders in 2012 when they were known as the P.E.I. Rocket. This past season with the Islanders, the Bois-des-Filions, Que. native had 13 assists in 67 games with a minus-five rating.

The trade was made official today.
