OFFICIAL: Islanders acquire Ross Johnston from Victoriaville

The Charlottetown Islanders have acquired forward Ross Johnston from the Victoriaville Tigres.

In return, the Islanders send a first-round pick in 2015 to the Tigres.

Johnston, a Charlottetown native, will join his third QMJHL team in four seasons and will return to the Maritimes Division.

He was originally selected by the Moncton Wildcats in the sixth round in 2011 and played two seasons with the Wildcats before playing for Victoriaville this past season.

The six-foot-five, 224-pound left-winger scored 10 goals and 25 goals in 60 games with Victoriaville. In 151 career QMJHL games, the 20-year-old has 24 goals and 59 points with a minus-13 rating.

The trade was made official today.
