The Charlottetown Islanders have traded 18-year-old prospect Duncan McKie to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan today for a late round pick.
In return, the Islanders receive an 11th-round pick (182nd overall) in the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft.
McKie was drafted in the fourth round, 69th overall by the Islanders in 2013. The Kentville, N.S., native never played a game for the Islanders, but participated in two training camps.
The six-foot-two, 201-pound defenceman played with the Valley Wildcats and the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Junior A League this past season. McKie was pointless in five games with Valley, but registered three goals and nine points in 40 games with Miramichi.
The trade was made official by the QMJHL today.
