Pair of Islanders prospects drafted in QJHL



A pair of Charlottetown Islanders prospects were drafted into the Quebec Junior A Hockey League (QJHL) on Saturday.

Prospects Elio Di Meo and Pierre-Olivier Joseph were selected.

Di Meo, 17, was drafted eighth overall by the Rangers de Montreal-Est. The Montreal, Que., native was drafted in the 12th round, 209th overall by the Islanders in 2015. Di Meo played with Laval-Montreal Rousseau Royal of the QMAAA scoring seven goals and 16 points in 42 games.

Joseph, 16, was selected in the eighth round, 104th overall by Les Forts de Chambly. The Islanders drafted Joseph in the fifth round, 78th overall in 2015. Joseph scored three goals and 11 points in 42 games with Collège Antoine-Girouard Gaulois of the QMAAA.
