Alcalde, 19, was acquired by the Islanders during last season's Christmas trading period and picked up 34 penalty minutes in 25 games. Prior to his stint with the Islanders, the Montreal, Que. native played 65 games with the Halifax Mooseheads over the course of a season and a half.
The Islanders now have 26 players in camp consisting of three goaltenders, 10 defencemen and 13 forwards.
Next exhibition game for the Islanders is Friday Sept. 5 in Saint John.
