Paolo to attend Islanders camp for 48 hours

Recently acquired defenceman Gianni Paolo says he will attend Charlottetown Islanders' training camp, only for 48 hours.

Paolo shared a Google Doc to the public to clear up confusion with what has happened between trades he had been involved in with Charlottetown and the Portland Jr. Pirates.

In the text, Paolo said he had no knowledge that he was getting traded to Charlottetown until General Manager Grant Sonier called him and explained the Islanders were going to acquire him.

"As for the Q being completely ruled out, that is not the case," Paolo wrote.

He is happy with his decision on playing with the South Shore Kings coached by Scott Harlow for the upcoming season.

Paolo also wrote he will be paying his own way to attend Charlottetown's training camp.

"I am interested in meeting the staff, seeing the facilities and seeing longtime friend Daniel Sprong."

Sonier tweeted yesterday, the Islanders are hoping Paolo will attend camp after the Beantown Classic tournament.
