McDonald a celebrity player for upcoming Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Challenge

Charlottetown Islanders goaltender Mason McDonald will participate in the 2014 Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Challenge.

The event will take place at the BMO Centre in Bedford, N.S. on Aug. 2.

McDonald is listed as a celebrity player along with NHL stars such as: Brad Marchand (Boston Bruins), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche), Andrew Bodnarchuck (LA Kings), James Sheppard (San Jose Sharks), Shawn O'Donnell (New York Rangers) and Zach Sill (Pittsburgh Penguins).

Also playing as a celebrity player is McDonald's former teammate, Jake Brennan of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Jeff Marchand of the Saint Mary's Huskies and Darren Rumble will play as well.

Jordan Boyd passed away on Aug. 12, 2013 on the first day of Acadie-Bathurst Titan's training camp. It was a death that shocked the entire hockey community.
