McDonald invited to Calgary Flames' development camp

Charlottetown Islanders goaltender Mason McDonald has been invited to Calgary Flames' development camp.

The development camp begins Saturday, July 5 at WinSport Arena in Calgary, Alta. and will run until Wednesday, July 9.

McDonald, an 18-year-old Halifax, N.S. native, was drafted 34th overall by the Calgary Flames this past weekend during the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He was the first goalie selected.

According to the Calgary Flames press release, McDonald will wear No. 72 during the development camp.

McDonald joins fellow QMJHLers Brandon Vuic (Halifax), Ryan Culkin (Drummondville) and Emile Poirier (Gatineau).
