Chlapik picks up two points in Czech win over U.S.A.



Charlottetown Islanders Import pick Filip Chlapik opened the Ivan Hlinka tournament yesterday with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 Czech Republic win over the U.S.A.

Czech Republic starts the tournament with a 1-0 record. 

Chlapik's goal gave the Czech Republic a 2-1 lead at the 12:51 mark of the second period. Chlapik one-timed a pass from Jakub Zboril. Lukas Jasek drew the second assist. 

The Czech took a 3-1 lead at 16:09 of the second period with Chlapik drawing a helper on a goal from Jasek.

With his two points, Chlapik is second in team scoring so far and 12th in overall scoring.

The Czech Republic play Finland in their next game today at 7 p.m.
