PRESEASON: Islanders travel to Bathurst for game against Titan

The Charlottetown Islanders are traveling to northern New Brunswick today for an exhibition tilt against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7:30 p.m.

Charlottetown is 0-2-0-0 in pre-season action so far, while the Titan is 1-1-0-0.

The Islanders opened their pre-season last Friday in Moncton at the Red Ball Internet Centre with a 5-2 loss to the Wildcats. The Islanders then dropped a 7-3 decision to the Titan less than 24 hours later at the Pownal Sports Centre. In each game, about five returning players were dressed; the rest were rookies looking to earn a spot on the team.

Mitchell Balmas, Charlottetown's seventh overall pick, has a goal and one assist in two pre-season games. David Henley who's played in both games, has two assists.

Newly acquired goaltender Chase Marchand should see some action tonight.

Bathurst is coming off a 5-4 loss to the Wildcats on Sunday. Defenceman Nicolas Dumulong leads the Titan in exhibition scoring with two goals and three points in one game - all came in Bathurst's win against Charlottetown. Jimmy Hunnington and Liam Hynes have a goal and two assists in two games.

After tonight's game the Islanders will return home to host the Moncton Wildcats Sunday at 4 p.m. at the APM Centre in Cornwall.
