Former Isles defenceman Graves traded to Remparts
The Quebec Remparts have acquired former Islanders defenceman Ryan Graves from the Val-d'Or Foreurs today.
In return, the Remparts send 17-year-old defenceman Vincent Lanoue, a first-round pick in 2015 and a second-round pick in 2017.
Graves, 19, helped lead the Foreurs to their third Presidents Cup Championship this past season. The Yarmouth, N.S. native was acquired by Val-d'Or from Charlottetown during the trade period. In 65 games between Charlottetown and Val-d'Or, the six-foot-four, 225-pound frame scored five goals and 22 points. He added a goal and eight points in 24 playoff games and two assists in four Memorial Cup games. The New York Rangers selected Graves 110th overall in 2013.
Lanoue, who turned 17 yesterday, recorded seven assists in 51 games for the Remparts last season. The Le Gardeur, Que. native was a fourth round, 70th overall, pick by the Remparts in 2013.
The trade was made official on the QMJHL website today.
