Charlottetown Islanders forward Mitchell Balmas will play for Team Canada White at the upcoming 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sarnia, Ont.
Balmas replaces Rimouski Oceanic's Hunter Moreau on the roster.
In a team release, General Manager said it's a great opportunity for the rookie.
“He and Sam (Guilbault) will have an opportunity to not only represent their country but also have the chance to play against the other top 16-year old's in the world.”
Balmas, who the Islanders drafted seventh overall in this summer's draft, has three goals and six points in 14 games this season.
The event runs Nov. 2-6.
