The Charlottetown Islanders will make their first trip of the season to Halifax to battle the struggling Mooseheads.
Danish superstar Nikolaj Ehlers has returned for the Mooseheads and will be making his season debut tonight.
Both teams have already met each other this season back on Sept. 13 in Charlottetown. The Islanders were down 5-3 in the final minutes when they had a five-minute power play to tie the game up before losing in overtime on a questionable no-call by the referee for goaltender interference. None the less, the game is in the past and the Islanders will be looking to rebound from Saturday's 7-0 home loss to Rouyn-Noranda.
Dating back to last season, the Mooseheads have won nine-straight games against the Islanders. Charlottetown has not won a game against Halifax since last season's home opener on Sept. 12, 2013.
Good news came to the Island this week when Ross Johnston returned to the Islanders from his NHL camp with the New York Islanders. The bad news is, he will be out four to six weeks with an upper body injury.
Dating back to the Islanders' franchise history as the Montreal Rocket in 1999, the team is 37-52-5-6 with six ties in 106 games against the Mooseheads.
