Flames return McDonald to Islanders

Mason McDonald is on his way back to Charlottetown.

The Calgary Flames announced they have returned the 18-year-old goaltender to the Charlottetown Islanders after spending almost three weeks the Flames.

The Flames tweeted the news today.

McDonald attended Calgary's rookie camp which started Sept. 12 and appeared in two rookie games. He then attended the team's main training camp which started Friday Sept. 12.

The Halifax, N.S. should make his 2014-2015 season debut with the Islanders on Wednesday when they travel to Acadie-Bathurst for a tilt against the Titan at 7:30 p.m. AST.
