The Charlottetown Islanders will play their first road game of the season when they visit the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S. tonight.
The Islanders are coming off an overtime loss to the Halifax Mooseheads Saturday, Sept. 13 after a questionable no-call on goaltender interference which led to the overtime winner. Charlottetown is 1-0-1-0 on the season with three points, good enough for second place in the Maritimes Division.
Cape Breton is 2-0-0-0 on the season and is coming off a 5-4 road win over the Titan on Saturday. They sit first overall in the Maritimes.
Alexandre Goulet and Bradley Kennedy will make their return to the Islanders line-up. Goulet was returned to Charlottetown by the Montreal Canadiens after participating in their rookie camp. Kennedy missed the first two games due to a concussion.
Nathan Yetman has been return to Summerside of the MHL and Malik Johnson made the trip with the club. Goaltender, and Sydney native, Logan Cooke has been called up to play back-up behind Daryl MacCallum.
The Islanders will be without Ryan MacKinnon (Buffalo Sabres), Mason McDonald (Calgary Flames), Ross Johnston (New York Islanders), Mike DiPaolo (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Oliver Cooper (Colorado Avalanche) to main NHL training camps.
Cape Breton will be without three players to NHL camps: Clark Bishop (Carolina Hurricanes), Duncan MacIntyre (Colorado Avalanche) and goalie Francois Brassard (Buffalo Sabres).
