The 2014-15 regular season is finally here and the Charlottetown Islanders will open the season at home against the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Charlottetown ended the pre-season with two losses to the Sea Dogs, 4-3 and 7-5, and with a 2-4-0-0 record. They will certainly be looking to rebound from those two losses and start season with a win, and even better, a win at home.

There will be missing bodies for both teams to NHL camps as Charlottetown will be missing four skaters and goalie as Saint John will be missing three skaters.

Gone for Charlottetown will be: Ryan MacKinnon (Buffalo), Ross Johnston (New York Islanders), Mike DiPaolo (Columbus), Alexandre Goulet (Montreal) and Mason McDonald (Calgary). Oliver Cooper will leave for Colorado's camp tomorrow.

Missing for Saint John are: Olivier LeBlanc (Columbus), Mitchell Dempsey (Boston) and Matthew Highmore (Montreal).

Last season, the Islanders were 5-3-0-1 against the Sea Dogs, but have only been 8-8-0-0 against Saint John in the last five years at home. Note that the records are only for regular season games.

Saint John has had the Islanders' number over the last five years, posting a 19-12-0-2 record.

Both Kameron Kielly and Daniel Sprong led the Islanders in pre-season scoring with four goals and eight points each in four games.

Samuel Dove-McFalls led the Sea Dogs in pre-season scoring with three goals and five points in four games.

With McDonald's departure to Calgary, Daryl MacCallum should be getting the start for the Islanders. Sebastien Auger should be the starter for Saint John.

Note: Pre-game stats will begin again for tomorrow's game against Halifax.
