Chlapik named QMJHL third star of the week

Charlottetown Islanders forward Filip Chlapik was named the QMJHL's third star of the week, the Quebec Major Hockey League announced today.

The week is for Nov. 3-9.

The Czech Republic native picked up seven points in four games. On Tuesday, Chlapik scored a goal in a 5-3 home loss to Moncton. On Friday in Gatineau, the 17-year-old scored two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win and was named the game's first star. Chlapik picked up an assist on Saturday in Blainville-Boisbriand before scoring a goal and an assist on Sunday in an 8-3 in Drummondville.

Chlapik is the first Islanders player this season to receive honours in the QMJHL's three stars of the week.

The first star of the week was Moncton Wildcats' Conor Garland with three goals and nine points in three games. The second star of the week as Victoriaville's Angelo Miceli who registered three goals and seven points in three games.
